“For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear (2 Timothy 4:3, NIV).”
Greetings in the matchless name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Today, I would like to discuss with you what has become urgent and dire circumstances for many Christian families–the ongoing, accelerated assault by American culture. I would argue that the Church’s willingness to compromise and waffle on various key issues has left it vulnerable and less capable of mounting a defense against the various societal influences that seek to unravel the very fabric of the Christian family. The Church must hold true to its God-intended purpose and the Great Commission bequeathed by Christ if the Christian family is to succeed.
A brief appraisal of the daily news, television programming, and the general public discourse and demeanor, quickly reveals the antithetical values espoused by our society, government, and mainstream media. Never have Paul’s teachings in 2 Timothy 4:3 been so pronounced as they are today. Yet despite widespread compromise, abounding self-help ideology, and the rampant exaltation of moral relativism, people and families appear to be experiencing less joy and victory in their day to day lives. More and more, the world is in pursuit of the one answer to make it all better, all while heavily-medicated in the interim.
Why is this? It is impossible to experience joy, peace, and victory outside the Will of God. A complete refusal to acknowledge the principles that God has clearly outlined in his Word can never be conducive to righteousness, which brings about victorious living.
We at JC is the Way Ministries, Inc. are adamantly sincere about helping families meet life’s challenges through Christ-centered counseling, training, and education. The operative phrase being “Christ-centered.” It is increasingly evident that the world’s wisdom and methodology continue to fail Christian families. And I totally concur with Albert Einstein’s cogent assessment of what amounts to utter foolishness: “doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results.” Only God’s Word has the solution that the world is seeking, and it is our desire to impart these principles to help heal ill-adapted families, and ultimately a hurting world.
It only takes one family to get this ball rolling. Why not your family?
